Fascinated by how the human voice expresses various emotions, Vanessa eagerly explores the effective use of voice in five major areas: Bel Canto Singing (operatic), Public Speaking (in English and Cantonese), Drama Acting, Voice Over, and Coaching (singing and speech). This passion Is what brought her to the LifeHikes® community. She appreciates how AI and the LifeHikes App provides user-friendly solutions to help with speech practice.

Born in Hong Kong, Vanessa earned her IB Diploma on a full overseas scholarship at the United World College (UWC) in Canada. She later graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Music, First Class Standing. Subsequently, she worked full-time as a professional bilingual (English and Cantonese) Classical Music DJ at Radio Television Hong Kong for well over a decade.

Vanessa has been winning numerous trophies at Toastmasters International’s contests, including Championships at District of South China Finals in 3 categories: Prepared, Impromptu, and Evaluation Speeches. At the 2016 World Championship of Public Speaking held in Washington, D.C., she won a trophy that ranked her as a World’s Top 20 Speaker. She is the only female toastmaster in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to have attained such an acclaim. She is often invited to share her expertise in Public Speaking at Radio Television HK, at Macau’s Lotus TV, plus various universities, educational institutions and corporate companies.

As an active performer, she gives regular concerts as a solo Soprano, appears as an Actress and Singing Coach in various drama productions and works as a Voice Over Talent.
