This Privacy Notice applies to all Personal Data obtained, collected, or used by Blue Planet Training, Inc., doing business as LifeHikes, Own The Room, and their affiliates (collectively, “LifeHikes”). LifeHikes® values your interest in our services and products, whether you engage with us by visiting our websites or other online channels, including but not limited to our social media pages, newsletters, and blogs (collectively, the “LifeHikes Pages”).
This Privacy Notice covers all Personal Data we collect when you interact with any LifeHikes Pages or services, including when you visit our websites; purchase or use our products or services; subscribe to our newsletters; contact us via website, email, or phone; use our mobile applications; or access our cloud-based services. This includes all Personal Data collected both online and offline, without limitation.
Why We Ask You To Share Your Personal Data
We ask you to share your Personal Data for purposes including, but not limited to, the following:
- To respond to your requests for information about LifeHikes’ services and products.
- To develop, personalize, and improve our training products, services, and marketing campaigns so they are more relevant to you.
- To operate, evaluate, and continuously improve our online and offline services, solutions, and overall customer experience.
- To keep you informed about new or updated products and services, and to invite you to participate in product or service testing where applicable.
- To collect feedback about your experiences with LifeHikes, such as through surveys, service evaluations, or reviews submitted via platforms like Apple’s App Store or Google Play.
- By sharing your Personal Data with LifeHikes, you help us better understand market needs, optimize our services and products, and continuously improve the LifeHikes Pages. We generally process your Personal Data only for the purposes communicated to you. If we use your Personal Data for other closely related purposes, we will implement any additional data protection measures required by applicable law.
Different Ways We Collect Personal Data
You may share Personal Data with LifeHikes in several ways, including but not limited to the following:
- Information you provide directly to us
- Registering on www.lifehikes.com or www.owntheroom.com, including signing up for newsletters or RSS feeds.
- Communicating with us via email, chat, phone, written correspondence, or through our websites.
- Submitting inquiries, requests, or service- or product-related communications.
- Participating in surveys, competitions, service evaluations, or product testing.
- Applying for a job with LifeHikes by submitting your resume or other application materials.
- Requesting to receive messages on your mobile device.
- Engagement with LifeHikes communities and promotions
- Participating in LifeHikes online communities, including social media channels, pages, and blogs.
- Taking part in social media activities related to LifeHikes promotions (for example, liking, sharing, or commenting on content).
- Use of our digital services and technology
- Creating an account or logging in using social sign-on services (such as Facebook or LinkedIn).
- Using LifeHikes-connected products, mobile applications, or cloud-based services, including when you choose to share usage data or location data.
- Receiving personalized messages, special offers, or advertisements based on information you provide and information collected through cookies or similar technologies.
- Cookies and similar technologies placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit the LifeHikes Pages.
- Information we collect from other sources
- Social listening, where we review publicly available information online to improve our products and services, address consumer issues, and provide targeted marketing.
- Personal Data received through partnerships or acquisitions, where we purchase or work with another company of which you are a customer.
- If you do not want LifeHikes to use Personal Data that was not provided directly by you, you may contact us at any time at privacy@lifehikes.com.
Sharing Your Personal Data With Others
We may share your Personal Data with service providers, business partners, and other third parties, in accordance with applicable law. Our agreements with these third-party service providers and business partners restrict how Personal Data may be used and disclosed and require that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect it. LifeHikes discloses Personal Data only as described in this Privacy Notice and/or when required by law. From time to time, LifeHikes may sell or transfer all or part of its business to another company. In connection with such a transaction, Personal Data directly related to that business may be transferred to the acquiring company, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Sharing Features and User Responsibility
Some LifeHikes applications and portal services allow you to share your reports, performance data, or other information with individuals of your choice through generated links or sharing tools (e.g., email, messaging apps, AirDrop, or similar services).Please be aware that any shared link or file may be further forwarded, redistributed, or accessed by others beyond your intended recipients. Once shared, LifeHikes cannot control or restrict such onward sharing by third parties. By choosing to use the sharing features, you acknowledge that you are responsible for the recipients you share your information with, and you should only share with trusted individuals. LifeHikes is not responsible for disclosure or access resulting from onward sharing by recipients outside LifeHikes’ control.
Your Rights
Once you have provided us with your personal data, you have reasonable access to that information so that you can update, modify or, if legally possible, delete it by contacting LifeHikes at privacy@lifehikes.com. You will also be provided with an opt-out opportunity when necessary. We encourage you to keep your personal settings and personal data complete and current.
Overseas Transfers
The information you provide may be transferred to third party countries in providing you with the services. For any third party countries that do not have similar protections in place regarding your data and restrictions on its use as set out in this policy, we will take steps to ensure adequate protections are in place to ensure the security of your information. By submitting your information you consent to these transfers for the purposes specified above.
Your Choices
We strive to know you better so we can serve you better – while at the same time respecting your choices about how we use your Personal Data. Your personal data may be transferred from your home country to other LifeHikes companies, in different locations around the world, which may communicate with you about LifeHikes services, products, services or special offers that you may be interested in. If local law requires it, we will ask for prior consent to transfer your personal data outside of your geographic region. Where local law requires it, we will ask you to “opt-in” or affirmatively consent to the processing of your Personal Data. For example, where local law requires it, we will only send you newsletters, or other info, if you have subscribed to them. Similarly, where local law require, we will ask you to “opt-in” before using user profiling techniques. You will always have the option to unsubscribe from any targeted communication from LifeHikes or change your personal profile information by emailing us at privacy@lifehikes.com. We will respond to your access and/or correction request within 4 weeks.
Social Media
When you participate in various social media forums like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tencent, Baidu, LinkedIn, etc., you should be familiar with and understand the tools provided by those sites that allow you to make choices about how you share the personal data in your social media profile(s). LifeHikes is bound by the privacy practices or policies of these third parties, and this Privacy Notice, so we encourage you to read the applicable privacy notices, terms of use and related information about how your personal data is used in these social media environments. Also, depending on the choices you have made regarding your settings on various social media sites (and/or in combination with your settings on the LifeHikes Pages), certain personal data may be shared with LifeHikes, about your online activities and social media profiles.
Links To Other Sites
During your online journey across our websites you may encounter links to other websites for your convenience and information. These websites may operate independently from LifeHikes, and may have their own privacy notices, statements or policies. We strongly suggest that you review them to understand how your Personal Data may be processed in connection with those sites, as we are not responsible for the content of non-LifeHikes owned or managed sites, or the use or privacy practices of those sites.
Mobile Apps
We may obtain the information you provide when you register with us or you contact us through certain feedback channels. Such information may include your name, e-mail address, username, password and/or other Personal Data. In addition, the mobile app may collect certain information automatically upon your consent, such as the type of mobile device you use, the device’s unique ID and IP address, your mobile device’s operating system, the type of browsers you use, and information about the location of your mobile device. You can stop the related processing of information by contacting us via privacy@lifehikes.com.
Cloud
LifeHikes may store your Personal Data in a cloud. This means that your Personal Data may be processed on behalf of LifeHikes by a cloud service provider and could be stored in different locations around the world. LifeHikes makes use of organizational and contractual measures to protect your personal data and to impose similar, but in no way less restrictive, requirements on our cloud services providers, including requirements that your personal data be processed exclusively for the purposes mentioned above.
How We Protect Your Personal Data
We recognize and take seriously our responsibility to protect the Personal Data you entrust to us from loss, misuse or unauthorized access. LifeHikes uses a variety of security technologies and organizational procedures to help protect your Personal Data. For example, we implement access controls, use firewalls, secure servers and encrypt certain types of data, such as financial information and other sensitive data.
Data Retention
We are committed to retaining your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, as outlined in this Privacy Notice.
1. Personal Information and Account Data:
- Your personal information, including name, email address, gender, date of birth, company, title, physical address, and short bio, will be retained for the duration of your active LifeHikes account status.
- Personal information collected through other LifeHikes applications, such as during personalized coaching sessions, will be retained in the respective system. This may include, but is not limited to, names, email addresses, and any other information provided in response to session-related questions.
- Upon LifeHikes account deletion or a specific deletion request for data collected outside of LifeHikes accounts, all personal information will be permanently removed from our systems within 14 working days [max. retention period].
2. Client Usage Data:
- Video presentations, performance reports, and course materials will be retained for the duration of your active LifeHikes account status to support your ongoing learning journey.
- These records are considered integral to your learning history and will be deleted alongside your personal information upon account deletion within 14 working days [max. retention period].
3. Application Data:
- Device information, usage data, location data, and diagnostic data collected through our LifeHikes application will be retained for as long as you use the application.
- Upon application deletion or withdrawal of consent, this data will be permanently deleted from our systems within 14 working days [max. retention period].
4. Inactive LifeHikes Accounts:
- We do not automatically delete LifeHikes accounts due to inactivity, recognizing the value of lifelong learning. Inactive accounts will be securely stored and protected, and you can reactivate your account at any time by logging in.
5. Financial Transaction and Payment Data:
- Financial Transaction records and payment information will be retained for 7 years [max. retention period] to comply with financial regulations and audit requirements, even if the client account is deleted.
6. General Communication and Support:
- Correspondence and support requests will be retained for the duration of your active LifeHikes account status and will be deleted within 14 working days [max. retention period] upon request for account deletion.
7. Web Cookies and Usage Data:
- You have full control over your cookies and can clear them at any time to manage your browsing experience.
8. Marketing, Survey, and Research Data:
- Data collected for marketing and research purposes, such as feedback, survey responses, and market analysis data, will be anonymized and aggregated for statistical purposes.
